Is is it true that the commandments of God are not applicable in the New Testament?

Well, some interesting discussions we get to have today. I believe with my whole heart that Jesus Christ has done away with the law, meaning that, all the legal stuff that was done under the Old Testament are no longer applicable to the New Testament believers. Legal things such as the blood sacrifices, the immediate execution of the offender, the sabbaths (rules of the temple) and other things, Jesus has accomplished this on our behalf in the original temple in heaven.

But then what about the commandments of God, which were written by the finger of God, do they apply today? The only way to find that out is to go to the bible which is the word of God and see what it has to say regarding this matter. Jesus said in the gospel of John 14:21 "He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him." again John say in his first epistles, "Those who obey his commands live in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us."1 John 3:24. This shows us that the commandments are the proof of that we love God and that we are in Him and Him in us.

Do not confuse the law and the commandment, as I said before we are not subject to legal things of the Old Testament but we are subject to the infallible, immutable and eternal word of the Most High God. We have been saved not through the law but by grace. Grace does not put away God's commandments but it does nullify the power of the law. What do I mean by this? It is written that "were have been justified by faith" (Roman 5:1), and again "the just shall live by faith" (Roman 1:17; Hebrews 10:38)

1) If we are justified by faith, it is because we heard the word and believed and upon that faith which came by hearing the word of God as in Roman 10:17 " Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God " we are now declared righteous without doing a thing.

2) If the just shall live by faith which does come by hearing, then we can agree that the just shall live by active or voluntary obedience to the word of God. Whatever is done by faith, the same cannot be found outside God's word. To the righteous in Christ, Paul writes "Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed--not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence--continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling," Philippians 2:12, Jesus has become the savior to those who obey, see Hebrews 5:9 "And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him" Obedience to God's commands is the key to living successfully under grace because Jesus "died for all, so that they who live might no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose again on their behalf." If we then live for Christ, we should obey Him.

Revelation 22:14  "Blessed [are] they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city." KJV and Revelation 14:12, "Here is the patience of the saints: here [are] they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus" The commandments of God and the faith of Jesus are very crucial if you want a crown from God. Though we are saved by grace, were are to work according to what Christ commandeds us because in order to get a reward in heaven you need to have your work to survive the test of fire, see  1 Corinthians 3:13 -15, "Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. If any man's work abide which he has built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire."

Lets us strive to obey Christ above men!!!
