Copesville entry point on the Greytown Road (Bhambatha Road) |
I was telling my friend that I was planning to get my own house around Copesville and he said to me, "Bra that is not the place for you to live in, trust me" The reason my friend said what he said is that, Copesville has made quite a huge negative reputation in Pietermaritzburg and that cause people to fill ill about it. Some of the things that adds up to the fame of Copesville is that, this place has the highest rate in crimes, such as drug abuse, theft, burglary, alcohol abuse, homicides and the list goes on. When I first interacted with individuals and families in Copesville, I discovered that many people are not from KwaZulu Natal, some are from around South Africa and some are form other countries. I have ministered in Swapo, Mason and Haniville but we have on location for our Sunday meetings and that bigger building of the sports complex, near Haniville. The problems that Copesville is facing can be solved by the church working together with the community and the leaders thereof.
What breaks my heart the most, is the number of teenagers who are busy having babies and spreading HIV and the people who leave their home for Copesville to live in with men, without first getting married. I believe that God loves all those people and He wants to save everyone of them. That's why my heart beats for that area, it is indeed my Father's vineyard. I believe that in the dry land as that, God can bring rain, and cause the springs of water to form rivers for all men, from the South, West, North, East to drink and be refreshed.
We have reviewed our Vision and now we are launching a multi-racial church that will cater for everyone living in Copesville, Pietemaritzburg and we have upgraded the name of the church we are now know as the Fire Word Ministries International. And we invite anyone who has no church to come and check us out . We teach the word of God and not our opinion. Last but not least, we do accept offering, however we are not after your money, we want you to come to Christ and be saved.
